type='text'>utah? just kidding!!

That's right, i moved back to junction. utah just wasn't fufilling enough. and not to mention i am a very indecisive person. normally changing one's mind about something is not a huge deal. well, it is when that subject is moving back and forth between two different states. but i've decided to come back and live with my mom and my sister. my mom just asked if i was facebooking or texting. no, i'm blogging! i believe this world would not be able to survive without the technology we have today. everything can be done from a computer and a cell phone can do almost everything a computer can. i think robots are definitely coming in the near future. so i go to borders everyday to use their wifi. don't get me wrong though. i do miss people back in Provo. even though i was only there a short time there are some who definitely made an impact in my life. i'm kind of excited to have a winter in colorado. last year i spent the winter in utah and i think this will be a nice change. i just hope it will not be as cold here. that's one thing i really do not like...the cold. i prefer all my digits be comfortable and not turn purple. but i absolutely plan on making it up to powderhorn in the next few months! bunny hill here i come! so what am i doing now? the wonderful process of job hunting. i think everyone dreads this as much if not more than myself. i'm hoping to start practicing esthetics in my house here soon. check out my blog for details!! courtniesthetics.blogspot.com
Back in UTAH

So...here i am. sitting back in riverside apartments, updating my blog. it has definitely been a while since i've been here. so gotta fill in a few things, like my summer. after i moved back home i moved in with the two most amazing girls i have ever met. their names are Girlfriends. that's right. they both have the same name. so we chilled this summer. lived it up. me and gf worked at sonic while gf worked at qudoba and later got laid off. night after night was pure fun! we definitely had some very good times in our apartment. yes, it is still ours. i will soon be back there living it back up.
so now i'm back in utah. nothing exciting has happened yet. i got my esthetics license in may. waiting for my colorado license to be transfered over. until then i've decided to take on the adventure of practicing esthetics in provo.
finding a job up here isn't as easy as most people think. the majority of the population is college students and it makes it hard to find a job when everyone around you is looking for a job also. if your not there within 2 minutes of the job posting the job is gone!! so after tons of job applications i'm still sitting at home on our mismatching couches. i have become very educated in crime scene investigations and how to use netflix on the tv.
i have however, been blessed with an amazing roommate. miss kara! she is such an amazing person and i know it sounds cliche but i really have been blessed to have her in my life. things have been better with her helping me.
my suggestion to you few who do decide to read this: don't move to utah unless your completely prepared for the challenge. with any luck i'll find that great guy and realize this place is for me. until then my wishes are to be home in colorado with all the people that i truly care about. xoxo
Spring Might be Here!

today the weather has been very nice. sunny and a warm. little clouds and almost no wind. i just hope this time the sun decides to stay and kick out the snow for good. it's almost april and we still have snow up here. i can't stand it!
<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" don't know how to take care of it. everyday is the same over and over. but with this new cut i can do so much! and i love it!
school is over in just under a month. i am so excited! i just want to be home and with my friends and family again. i'm trying to bust out all my hours. i've been going to school 6 days a week and over 50 hours a week. it gets very tiring but i know in the end it will totally be worth it! i can't say i haven't enjoyed any time here because that would not be true. there are definitely some moments i will never forget. at the same time, i am ready to get out of here. i don't understand how anyone can live in provo this long. it makes me sick.
i've met some great people up here! it has been a great social experience. course, my mean streak came out recently so i have made a few people cry lately. oh well. that's their problem. i'm just glad i won't be a big softie when i get home. still gotta keep everyone in line.
we had my birthday party last week. there were only 4 of us there but that's ok. it was nice to have people there. my sister, cousin, and roomate were all chillin. shiloh made me the cutest cake! i loved it! funfetti cake and frosting with dinosaurs on top.

well it's the last day of february. this year surely is going by fast.
i would like to give a shoutout to all my friends: thank you for always being here for me and making me the person i am today. i could not have made it this far without your love and support.
i used to think someone's best friend was someone they grew up. someone they have known since kindergarten. fortunately i was lucky enough to grow up with my best friend who happens to be my cousin also! pretty much we're going to be best friends forever, and if you know us, you know we'll be making trouble for the rest of our lives. don't think it's going to stop in the nursing home. it's not.
i have learned in the past few months that when it comes to true friends, it doesn't matter how long you've known each other, where you met, or how often you talk. a true friend will always be there for you the minute you need them. like they say, a good friend will bail you out of jail, but a true friend will be in the cell standing next to you saying that was fun!!
i have been blessed to meet new people on a regular basis. people who experience constant loneliness are missing out. we need friends in our lives to be our support systems. we can't go through this life by ourselves. nothing is meant to be easy, but our hardships can be easier with the help of friends.
i feel very fortunate to have met the people that i have. some people i don't talk to anymore, but if anyone was meant to be my friend, they still are. and sometimes people just come back no matter how many times you try to get rid of them. those are the friends you know will always be there.
it's also great to have friends that you have amazing memories with. making ouija boards, catching tadpoles and killing a few, making heart pretzels, going to weekly movies, skating at sonic, being called brittany, trips to glenwood, texting til your fingers are sore (by the way that's not possible for me). pictures don't last forever, but memories do.
thank you to all my friends! you really have no idea how much i love you guys!
xoxo court
<img width='1' height='1' alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5439403956652943026" />
well another week has come and gone. valentine's day is over. thank goodness for that. i'm not sure if i could take another minute of that.
shiloh and i went to the salt lake at antelope island on monday. besides the very cold weather it was actually a lot of fun. we took some fun pictures and hung out for a while. we finally had to go before i froze to death. i forgot my big coat. i'm not sure what i was thinking. it's still freezing up here. i feel like i'm living in Antarctica or somewhere up there. today was cloudy and very chilly. i want this winter weather to leave! after the lake we went to kim's house and played with andi and jacob. then headed to gateway mall to end the day.
i'm up to 825 hours. getting there. hopefully will be done on time. don't want to spend forever up here. i don't know how people can just live up here their whole life. it makes no sense to me. i'm sure if all my family and friends were up here it would be a different story. but since they are back home, that's where i want to be. two months!
<a onblur="try of waking up before i have to. it's getting kind of old. no, it's getting really old. i'm not sure why my body doesn't want to sleep. it just likes being a pain. maybe it's the fact i'm not sleeping on satin sheets. i might have to switch back to those.
less than a month for my birthday. i'm not that thrilled about it. shiloh is getting me an amazing dinosaur cake, but my family is not going to be up here, i don't have any friends up here. and 19 isn't a special number. so pretty much it'll be another day in my book. oh well. at least it's on a day i don't have school. that will make things a little better. who knows, maybe we'll hit up a club or something like that...
well i'm off to get some sleep hopefully. see ya next time!
Febuary Update

wow. i can't believe it's already almost valentine's day. what a pathetic excuse for a holiday. honestly, all it is, is a day for lovers to do what they already do and for single people to feel worse than they already do about not having anyone. i can willingly say i have never had a good valentine's day experience. most of them i experienced single, one i got in a fight with a friend over a heart pretzel, and others were just boring. but anyways, let's talk about something different. like how much i could be the joker when i'm wearing this masque on my face. haha
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5yMZaQfz6k4/S25DOWmfZSI/AAAAAAAAAEg/rS9RgDLuEUM/s320/Picture+1046.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5435355714147018018" />
we have been watching a lot of batman cartoons lately. and i think it's appropriate to say if i had a crazier look on my face i could most definitely look like joker. not sure who would want to be like that crazy man. but then again if we could be compared to personalities of characters, i would be harley quinn. no matter how mean the joker is and how many times he gets rid of her, she will always come back to him. she will always love him. and in his sick twisted way he loves her back. i have a joker. and i'm his harley.
but let's talk about something a little more exciting. like, waxing!! since in school i have learned to wax pretty much every part of the body. sorry guys, haven't learned how to do brazilians for you yet.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5yMZaQfz6k4/S25EuqYTy5I/AAAAAAAAAEo/vVFpS6iWEqg/s320/barbie.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5435357368723688338" />
when i first started waxing, i was a big fan of hard wax. you don't need a strip to pull it off, it's a stronger wax, and it is more gentle on the skin. but after waxing clients for six months now, i can say i love strip wax. you don't have to wait for it to set up. less time, less pain. one minute hair is there, put the wax and strip on, and the next minute the hair is gone. it's amazing! my absolute favorite body part to wax is the armpits. i can't even explain how wonderful it is to have a gross hairy armpit on second and a completely clean one the next. like i said, it's amazing.
well i've prolly grossed you out enough. so, until next time! xoxo
<img width='1' height='1' Jacob rode from utah to CO with me and shiloh. somehow we lucked out and he slept over half the trip. while in junction i got to see most of my wonderful friends! being with them for such a short amount of time made me realize how much i really miss them. hopefully i can get done here in utah and get back to them as soon as possible!
my new year's resolution? i don't have one really. all i want is to live this year to the fullest. most of the time people resolve to loose weight or go here or see this or become that. by the time they get around to it, the year is over. just in time to make a new resolution.
well until next time! hopefully i'll keep up more this year.

Happy Holidays

<div style='background-color:#e9e9e9;

Today's post is on the basics of home cleansing. It is very important to take good care of your skin. In other words, if you love your skin, your skin will love you back.

Step 1: Cleansing. It is important to pick a cleanser that is best for you skin type. There are several different types. Dry/dehydrated, oily/acne, combination, pigmented, mature, congested, and normal. You should take good care of your skin, in order to have gorgeous and pure skin. The face skin is likely to be damaged much more than the skin on your body. A through cleansing of your skin is essential to maintain a beautiful complexion and amazing look. You should cleanse your face every morning to remove all impurities and oil. Cleansing should be the first step in your routine in order to eliminate all the impurities and the left makeup. Try to avoid soap-based products, because they leave the skin more vulnerable and can promote wrinkle formation. , because as we all know – the beautiful skin comes from clean skin. It is also important to cleanse every night to get rid of dirt and debris picked up during the day, and to remove makeup. Never sleep with any makeup on your face. It will only clog your pores.
Step 2: Exfoliation. New skin cells are constantly being created in the lower skin level (dermis), and the cells migrate to the surface. Over time the natural process of skin erosion becomes uneven, which gives skin a dry and rough character. Exfoliation removes the outer layer to reveal the newer skin beneath. This shedding of the outer layer unclogs pores, keeps skin clean, and helps reduce acne breakouts. You should exfoliate 2-3 times a week. Be careful what exfoliating products you are using. Make sure the beads in the scrub are perfectly spherical. Though apricot scrubs are the most common, the beads are not perfectly round and over time may cause microcuts in your skin.

Step 3: Toner. Toners are a mixture of water, alcohol, and other ingredients that remove dirt and make up residue, complement the cleansing process, refine pores and tighten pores temporarily, make skin feel fresh and clean, remove excess oil from skin, refresh tired complextion, whisk away impurities, reduce the appearance of fine lines, increase blood circulation, restore your skin's natural pH balance, improve skin tone, reduce oil secretion, improve the elimination of toxins, speed up cell turnover, and promote sloughing of dead skin cells. A toner should always be applied to a cleansed face. It should be applied with a cotton pad. Saturate the cotton pad and pat the toner gently over your face and neck area. Apply it to the forehead, cheeks, chin and nose, or to the whole face. Never rub your skin when applying toner. Do once a day, usually in the morning.

Step 4: Moisturizer. Every skin type needs moisture, protection and nourishing to function normal and to be healthy. Moisturizers protect your skin from the sun, wind, cold, from the environmental pollutants and nourish your skin. They plump and comfort your skin and make the foundation easier to blend smoothly and to stay put longer. Moisturizers improve your skin quality and act as a protective layer to help trap the moisture in the skin and stop it from evaporation. They slow down the natural moisture loss throughout the day and prevent further skin dehydration. Moisturizer applied prior to makeup will help to retain moisture and keep the skin smooth and supple.A moisturizer should be used every day, both in the morning and in the evening to keep your skin hydrated and healthy looking. A good moisturizer will increase skin’s resilience and boost its ability to protect itself from environmental irritants. Moisturizers should be applied both in the morning and at night everyday.

Step 5: Sunscreen. Using sunscreens products now would deliver benefits later in life and that's for sure, although unfortunately many people don't use such products. The sun protecting products deliver long-lasting moisture where it is required, vitamin D and vitamin E to combat the free radicals, they help prevent premature ageing and most importantly ensure a more even and longer-lasting tan. Protecting your skin from the sun is also important in reducing cancer risk later in life. The sun impacts collagen production in the skin and without collagen skin won’t be able to maintain its health and beauty. For your face you only need to use an SPF of 15-30. Make sure to apply sunscreen everyday after you moisturize in the morning.

Life in Utah

Well here I am, in Provo, Utah! I moved into my appt with my sister (pictured singing with me on the way here). We actually don't see each other very often due to the fact we have very different schedules. But once a week she still makes me dinner. Usually boxed pasta. But that's what we do!

School started on Aug. 31 and by the time I'm done I will be a master esthetician! That's right, I will be able to do manicures, pedicures, waxing, facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, body treatments, and so much more. I could pamper you for days. I'm not sure how much I love school yet. I love the things I'm learning but I'm surrounded completely by girls. Sometimes it's such a drama fest. I miss you boys! I am currently a basic student esthetician. Hopefully by December I will be in orientation to become a master student esthetician.

I'm not sure I love it here in Provo. Things are a bit lonely. With a small class of girls, most are not willing to branch out and meet new people. But i'm working on getting them to be more open. Ha we'll see how that goes. And all this traveling is making my face break out, big time. Normally I would just suck it up and deal with it, but going to school with a bad face is a no go. It's like a cosmetology student going to school with bad hair. It just shouldn't happen. My recommendation? Make sure your washing your face everyday (2x), exfoliating your face 2-3x weekly, and ALWAYS ALWAYS wear sunscreen on your face.

So I've decided that once a week I'm going to post information about the things I have learned in class to help you take care of your skin. The most important part of taking care of your skin is Home Care. It accounts for 75% of success. Special treatments by themselves are not enough to give you a clean, clear, beautiful looking face. So tune in weekly!!

My Scooter

 As most of you know i recently graduated high school and have decided i'm going to move to Provo, UT for college education. And everyone knows that almost all of provo's population drives a scooter. I have discovered there are many benefits to owning a scooter. I can about 80 miles/gallon of gasoline and my tank can hold a little over a gallon. The most i have ever paid to fill my tank is $2.76. Not to mention the parking spots are pretty convienent.

Most of Grand Junction can be very impatient. Mainly people drives cars or motorcycles. So i'm beginning to understand when people pass me in anger due to the fact that i can't go more than 40 mph (and let me tell you, that's pushing it). So i'm setting off in high hopes that Provo is a little more understanding.

The Beginning of my Blog

hmmm, well where do i begin...that's me - on the right. and on the left is my sister and best friend in the whole world, Kenzie. i've lived in grand junction almost all my life and during that time i have done some pretty crazy things. some examples are.... jumping out my grandma's second story window (ended up with a pretty huge bruise), dying my hair every month for over a year (what can i say, i like variety), and just recently i purchased a scooter (hopefully i won't get run over)!
i recently graduated from Fruita Monument this year and will be headed off to beauty school the end of august!!
i love my family they are the world to me. they are the ones that stick right beside me through all the wonderful adventures i take. hopefully i never end up in jail because no one will bail me out. :(
so keep reading to stay on top of the new and exciting things i'm doing!!
